Celebrity Equinox

Celebrity Equinox
Celebrity Equinox is the second Solstice class ship in the Celebrity fleet, together with Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Eclipse. The Solstice class ships are some of the most environment friendly ships in the world. An optimized hull design , covered in special coating together with LED lighting allows the ship to save around 30% more energy than other ships.

The Celebrity Eclipse was launched in July 2009 and was christened in Southampton by Nina Barough, CBE and founder of U.K.-based breast cancer foundation "Walk the Walk."

To date, the charity has raised over £52 million for the cause through annual walks. Many of the participants complete the course wearing colorful, decorated bras, which has become the trademark fashion statement at "Walk the Walk" events. Celebrity chose her as godmother, along with oceanographer Sharon L. Smith for the Celebrity Solstice and Yachtswoman Emma Pontin women involved in fundrasing or having beaten cancer.

The Celebrity Eclipse as with all the all the Celebrity Solstice Class of ships have some pretty amazing features on board, such as a large theater, multiple restaurant dining options including a dedicated restaurant for AquaClass guests, numerous bars and clubs, Solstice Deck, youth facilities, Online@Celebrity and many more. Some of the more unusal sights to see on board are glass blowing classes/demonstrations in a fully equiped glass blowing workshop (although everything is electric due to the hazzards of open flames on a ship) as well as The Lawn Club, an area of real grass which has to be cut almost every day, before fun activities can be held on it, such as miniture golf and boules or just a chance for passengers to relax with grass between their toes.

Food
The Celebrity Equinox has over nine different places to eat, each one with their own characters and style of food and presentation. The Silhouette Dining Room is the main restaurant and is truly magnificent. The centerpiece is a two-story glass wine tower and dazzling chandeliers. Maybe your tastes prefer some thing a little different, The Silk Harvest Restaurant offers a selection of Eastern dishes from China, India, Thailand and Vietnam, all served in small plates and designed to be shared amongst the family on lazy susans which are built into the tables. Alternatively, if you prefer a more traditional fare, but with a twist, The Tuscan Grille Restaurant is the ultimate grill experience at sea. It's a sophisticated steakhouse and specialty restaurant where you can enjoy fine Italian wines and beautiful panoramic. Whatever your choice and tastes, the Celebrity Equinox will meet them and hopefully surpass them.

Excercise

Whilst you enjoy your cruise on the Celebrity Equinox, you can stimulate your senses by visiting the on board AquaSpa® by Elemis. Here you can enjoy treatments inspired by rituals from cultures around the world. If you are interested in a more active work out, why not try a spinning class or walk into the fitness center you can meet with a personal trainer and maybe take a fitness class or try out the resistance swimming pool or use the exercise equipment. For more relaxation you can try the Persian Garden or adults only Solarium and watch the world go by. Much of the Spa area has floor to ceiling windows so you really can watch the world go by.

Then pamper yourself with a deluxe manicure or luxurious facial and enjoy every moment to the fullest. Whatever you choose, be assured that you'll leave feeling renewed and revived.

Formal nights

The Celebrity Equinox usually has two formal nights on a seven night cruise and three on 10 day or longer cruises. The men usually wear either a dark suit or a tux, while women wear short dresses or cocktail dresses. Two nights are also described as informal, where the men usually wear jackets.

Smoking

For all Celebrity ships, smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom or on any stateroom veranda. Cigarette smoking will only be permitted in designated indoor and outdoor areas of the ship, while cigar and pipe smoking will only be permitted in designated outdoor areas. Smoking will not be permitted in any dining venue, casino, theater, hallway, elevator or corridor. Violations to this smoking policy will result in a $250 cleaning fee being charged to the guest's onboard account and may also be addressed through Celebrity Cruises' Guest Conduct Policy. Cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco onboard.

Additionally, there is a non-smoking policy on all components of the land tour portion of all Celebrity Cruises tour products.
