Queen Victoria

Queen Victoria
Queen Victoria is a cruise ship in the Cunard Line fleet, named after Queen Victoria. She was launched christened on 11 October 2010 by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall

Though Cunard's Queen Victoria is technically not separated by various classes, it follows the the same practice as the Queen Elezabeth and the retired QE2 of separating passengers into different restaurants based on the price of the cabin they booked. Therefore the ships is actually divided into three classes, just as in the classic days of cruising, despite the fact that all other public rooms are used by all passengers equally.

Another element of the Queen Vicotria is her theatre, it was the first at sea to have private boxes. She also has a Winter Garden lounge with a retractable glass roof and a two-storey library with a connecting spiral staircase.

Food
Cunard still operates a form of passenger classes when it comes to dining. Passengers with some of the more expensive and exclusive suites have access to some very special dining rooms. Queens Grill guests dine in this magnificent restaurant on Deck 11. This is the epitome of Cunard dining excellence, where sparkling crystal glints against understated creams and golds and the à la carte menu is perfectly accompanied by the attentive service and air of refinement.

Up on Deck 11, the intimate single seating Princess Grill Restaurant captivates guests staying in Princess Grill Suites with flawlessly attentive service and the acclaimed pinnacle of our à la carte excellence. Menus wonderfully combine different flavours, textures and ingredients to surpass expectations evening after evening. There is also a Britannia dining room for Britannia staterooms, but there are other dining options on board including a Lido restaurant featuring fabulous buffet dining throughout the day. By evening it transforms into a regional dining venue offering Asian or Mexican foods.

Excercise

The Royal Spa can be found on Deck 9 and run by Steiner Leisure. Inside the spa is the Royal Bath House which includes the Thermal Suite and thalassotherapy pool. You will also find a beauty salon and a Wellness Centre to learn more about yourself and keeping well and happy.

The modern gym features regular classes, roughly 3 or 4 a day, some of which are free, including spinning. Being Cunard, you would expect some of the more elite offers and you will not be dissappointed, with classes such as fencing also available.

For those after a more rlxing health break, there are the two pools to either swim or relax in. Each pool has its own bar and two Jacuzzis.

Formal nights

The Cunard Queen Victoria is a fantastic ship with some suites going for many thousands of pounds. There are formal and semi formal nights during your crusie. Men do not necessarily need a tuxedo for these formal nights, and could use a dark suit, however, the majority do wear the full tuxedo. Importantly, the dress codes are for the formal dining rooms and ballroom and do not apply to the buffets / lounges and entertainment. Be prepared to change out of your swiming costumes or shorts for the evening though.

Smoking

Smoking is no longer permitted in any public area on the Queen Victoria with the exception of Churchill’s Cigar Lounge (cigars only) and designated areas on the open decks. Smoking is permitted on private balconies.
