The Silver Whisper and her sister ship Silver Shadow, are slightly larger in size than the two earlier ships of the Silversea fleet, Silver Cloud and Silver Wind, but this does not affect their level of hospitality. Fourth in the Silversea fleet, the Silver Whisper cruise ship entered service in 2000. Maintaining Silversea's high staff to passenger ratio, the ship only carries a maximum of 382 guests whilst employing 302 staff the ratio is around 1.3 - 1, so theres never a long wait for someone to assist you on board.
Whilst on board, why not explore the show lounge, where every seat in the multi-tiered theatre has a clear view to the stage. Shows in the show lounge range from west end type shows and classical soloists, to cultural entertainment and feature films.

Food
Dining on board the Silver Whisper is served in the main restaurant called The Restaurant or in the La Terrazza, an à la carte Italian themed restaurant. Other dining options include the premium restaurant Le Champagne, a wine restaurant by Relais & Châteaux at sea. Another option is the Pool Bar & Grill, for casual dining during the day. Poolside menu options feature healthy light selections at breakfast, with light fare for lunch and dinner including grilled meats and fresh-from-the-oven pizza. Room service is also particularily outstanding on board the ship, with passengers given the option to dine in their cabins on the whole multiple course meals rather than scaled down versions.

Excercise

The Fitness Centre on the Silver Whisper is equipped with weight machines, treadmills, elliptical trainers and various bicycles. There are also trainer led classes in aerobics, yoga and pilates. These are complimentary. There is also a Spa on board offering a wide range of therapies including facials, which are chargable. Silversea allow passengers to book these in advance before they cruise.

Formal nights

There are around three formal nights on board the Silver Whisper over a two week cruise, with additional informal nights and casual nights. Silversea send out a passenger information guide to what is expected on these nights. On Formal nights, men are expected to wear dinner jackets or dark suits and women cocktail dresses or gowns. Informal nights are more in line with a county club style.

Smoking

Cigarette smoking is permitted on the Silver Whisper in designated areas of The Bar, outside at the Terrace Café, Pool area, Panorama Lounge and Casino Bar. Cigar and pipe smoking is only allowed in designated areas outside at the Terrace Café and The Champagne Room.
