Wind Surf
The Wind Surf, is the largest sailing ship in the world, the Wind Surf is a five-masted sailing yacht with space to carry 312 passengers. The ship has six decks and a gross tonnage of 14,745, the Wind Surf is the largest yacht in the Windstar fleet. The Wind Surf was originally owned by Club Med Cruises and sailed as Club Med I. Windstar Cruises purchased the ship from Club Med in 1997 and renamed her Wind Surf. The ship does have a sister ship, which is still with Club Med Cruises sailing as Club Med 2

Ship particulars

Food
Dining on board the Wind Surf is more varied than on the other two ships of the Windstar fleet. There are four restaurants, The Restaurant, Degrees, Le Marché or Candles. The Restaurant is the main dining room and can cater for around 250 passengers in a sitting. Degrees is a reservation only restaurant and the other two are alfresco restaurants up on top deck, Candles for steaks and skewers, and Le Marché, for seafood. The Veranda restaurant offers casual buffet and full-service dining for breakfast and lunch.

The WindSpa lets you enjoy the ambience of tranquil surroundings of the classic vessel as you escape to another world. Formal nights

There are no formal nights on the Wind Surf. There are also no particular formal dress code. For dinner, the line suggested outfits are casual trousers and collared shirts or polo shirts for men and sundresses, slacks and informal cocktail dresses for women. .Passengers usually travel in casual clothes, formal outfits can be worn but is not necessary. There is however, a request that T Shirts are not worn in the restaurants.

Smoking

Smoking on the Wind Surf is allowed on all the open decks, in cabins and on the port side of the lounge on all ships. It is also permitted in the casino. Cigar and pipe smoking is permitted on the open decks only. Smoking is prohibited in the restaurants on all Windstar ships.
